NEWS: Never Mind the Bollocks gets 35th Anniversary Super Deluxe Box Set

It seems like it there is a reissue avalanche at the moment, what with the My Bloody Valentine, Nick Cave, Bowie, Ride and The Velvet Underground among the plethora of others getting remastered, remixed, buffed and expanded. The latest is the Sex Pistols landmark Never Mind the Bollocks Here’s the Sex Pistols which is turning 35 this year. This is the first time the punk classic has had such a comprehensive makeover and though many argue there were other bands of the era that produced better albums more deserving the plaudits this album gets it is still great to see such attention being given to an LP that captured an important cultural moment of the last century.

The box set is due out September 24th via Universal and among its many highlights is the inclusion of the ’77 studio demo of Belsen Was a Gas, full remastering of the album by Tim Young and the original producer Chris Thomas. Also included is the Spunk bootleg, a couple of live sets, a 100 page hardback book and a replica 7″ single of God Save The Queen which was withdrawn upon its original release.
