Exciting news in the world of Neil Young with the announcement of this year’s Bridge School benefit concert line-ups. The biggie is that three of the surviving members of Buffalo Springfield will reunite for 2 sets, something they haven’t done for 42 years.
Buffalo Springfield was Young’s first entrance into the contemporary music scene in the US in the late 60s. The band featured Young, Stephen Stills, Richie Furay and Jim Messina and though they only released three albums (Buffalo Springfield, Buffalo Springfield Again and Last Time Around) they were widely considered one of the most important bands of the time – attracting the nickname ‘The American Beatles’.
Bassist Bruce Palmer passed away in 2004 as did drummer Dewey Martin last year and reports at this stage suggest the remaining trio will play acoustically without guitarist Jim Messina.
