NEWS: The Jezabels Win the 2012 Australian Music Prize

This year’s The AMP has had a whiff of controversy around it with the withdrawal of judge and Group Managing Editor of Street Press Australia Andrew Mast who said that he would not partake in the judging process this year as the shortlist did not reflect the breadth or quality of Australian music released in 2011. There was also plenty of online discussion and debate surrounding creative, bold and forward thinking albums vs popular releases that appeal to a predominantly Triple J centric audience. The Jezabels receive a $30,000 cash prize.

2012 Shortlist:

  • Abbe May – Design Desire
  • Adalita – Adalita
  •
