Sad news this morning that Ronnie James Dio, vocalist for Dio, Rainbow, Black Sabbath and Heaven & Hell has passed away at the age of 64. Dio disclosed last year that he was suffering from stomach cancer.

His powerful voice made him one of the top line metal singers as well as the man responsible for poularising the ‘devil’s horns’ hand gesture…

Dio was recently collaborating on a new Heaven & Hell project with former Black Sabbath bandmates Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler and Vinny Appice. Their first and only studio album, The Devil You Know, was released in April 2009.
