NEWS: EDDY CURRENT SUPPRESSION RING wins AMP

Melbourne’s Eddy Current Suppression Ring have taken out the 2008 Australian Music Prize and the 30k prize money for their album Primary Colours.

Their back to basics post punk sounds are built on melody and refreshing simplicity. Check out the video and mp3s on their WEBSITE.

The band beat The Presets, Beaches, Cut Copy, The Drones, Cut Copy, C.W Stoneking, Jack Ladder, Tom Cooney and Ross McLennan to take the award.

The only other award went to Sydney singer songwriter Jack Ladder. He received the $15,000 Red Bull Award In Recognition Of Outstanding Potential for his album Love Is Gone.
