Press Release…
Writers That Sing
Sydney, NSW, 28th October, 2009 – Do you tire easily from musicians that substitute lyricism with clichés and skinny jeans for substance? Are you longing to be taken away from the days of everyday – even if the euphoria only lasts for the duration of one song? If so, this may well be the mid-week gig for you.
On Tuesday October 27th, Wednesday Oct 28th the iconic underground Sydney venue El Rocco’s Jazz Cellar (formerly known as Bar Me) will feature a night of weird and whimsical female fronted musicians that are sure to awake your senses.
Tuesday night will showcase a number of established and emerging artists including Daisy M. Tulley (Bridezilla), Madeleine Lucas (a casual end mile), JuliaWhy? (local Sydney-ite) as well as a special performance by Giselle who is coming up from Melbourne.
What is striking about each of these artists is the way their melodic and melancholic lyrics speak of experience and insight well beyond their years; not one of these songwriters is yet to reach their 23rd birthday.
Tickets are only $10 and can be pre-booked by calling Kristian (02) 93680896. The first strum will sound at 8pm. Do your bit to support Sydney’s music scene and come along to what will certainly be a memorable night.
