Dave Berman is the life force behind Silver Jews and he is calling time on his musical career, apparently to pursue a literary one. The band was formed in 1989, released six albums and featured a revolving lineup including Stephen Malkmus and Bob Nastanovich of Pavement in the early days.
His post on the Drag City board states:
