Dave Gahan has told Pop & Hiss (The LA Times blog) that himself, Martin Gore and Andy Fletcher have pretty much finished work on their new as yet untitled record.  To be released in Autumn (Southern Hemisphere) next year, their comments indicate a return to Violator era electronic sounds and a spiritual theme of sorts.  That’s good news seeing as many of Martin’s best songs are in some way linked to religion or faith (Personal Jesus, Condemnation, John The Revelator…).

Martin has also been buying up a lot of classic analog synthesizers and drum machines, hence the older DM sound apparently creeping back again.

We wait… and pray for that long overdue visit to Australia that we are all hoping for…
