The news wire on the web is starting to build up with rumours that The Smiths may be reforming for Coachella 2009.  Apparently Morrissey’s legendary manager Irving Azoff is working on the deal which would reap a huge payout for the band.  Just last year Morrissey turned down $75 million to play a 50 date tour with just himself and Marr.

It’s hard to see how anything ongoing would come out of the reunion seeing as the past has had insults, lawsuits and acrimony for Africa… Don’t hold your breath on this one!

UPDATE: AFTER RUMOURS STARTED SPREADING ABOUT THE POSSIBLE REUNION JOHNNY MARR HAS COME OUT AND DISMISSED THE SPECULATION AS RUBBISH ACCORDING TO UNCUT MAGAZINE.
