Depeche Mode announced earlier this month that they will be releasing a new (as yet untitled) record in April next year and embarking on what they are calling the “Tour of the Universe 2009“.  At this stage dates have been announced for Europe with Sth and Nth America to follow. There will be alot of hardcore fans hoping they finally make it back down here to Australia and New Zealand,  It has been nearly 15 years since they last played in Sydney.

In other DM news, they have also signed a worldwide exclusive deal with EMI Music.  As EMI own Mute, they will in essence remain signed to Mute as they have been since releasing the Dreaming Of You single way back in 1981.
